Recent research from Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago shows that stem cells are “turned on” when we exercise our bodies. Stem cells are the cells that stimulate new growth. The conclusion is that exercise stimulates neurogenesis or the making of new nerve cells. It can happen at any age, but the most significant time is in our teenage years. So let’s get out there and get moving!
